English AssingnmentS

Hi pals. I have a homework to write two letters in English form my English teacher, Mr. Teguh, about the Olympic Games. Here they are:

1. Letter for the President of IOC

LETTER FOR THE PRESIDENT OF AOC

Gading Serpong 1A AG 9/num.11
Tangerang, Banten, 178551

July, 28th 2008

Mr. Teguh
Star 007 avenue, Adisababa, Ethiopia

Dear Mr. President,
I am one of the Indonesian's team supporter in the Olympic Games.I was very excited for hearing you giving this chance for a free trip to watch the Olympic Games. I read about this in the newspaper yesterday. I think it is a nice opportunity for me. I have dreamt about being one of the Indonesia athlete and joining the Olympic Game since long time ago. And last year, my dream was near to come true, when I was chosen for a candidate of the young athlete in swimming. So, I think that if I can watch the Olympic Games, I hope that I can be more prepared or the next Olympic Games. Dear Mr. President, I really hope that I can watch this spectacular event, but, since my lack of fund, I can't go there by my own, and the government is now in the economic crisis, so that the government is unable to fund the newbie athlete. I hope you can hear my demand.

Sincerely yours,

David.

2. City Recommendation

CITY RECOMMENDATION

I,as the president of AOC, choose city B as the place for the Olympic Games event. This recommendation is taken by considering some factors that can support the success of the event. These factors:

1. Climate : It's suitable for sports, for its warmth
2. Venues : It has the greatest capacity, since this Olympic Games is predicted to be crowded
3. Transport : It's easy to reach, since it has many kinds of transportation
4. Accomodation : It has the largest capacity
5. Security : It's declared safe by the government

That is my recommendation. I hope it will be useful for the success of the Olympic Games.
Thank you.

President of AOC,

David

Hi David,
I'm a teacher in England reading your homework! Great job. There were a few mistakes but you communicated well and I understood both your letters perfectly, which is the important thing.
If you are interested in practising your English , do you know the bbc site from England? It's superb. Here's the link

Ask your teacher if he knows it. Good luck with your studies.
